With a new Porsche-inspired movement, design and style, Tag Heuer unveils the latest version of its Glassbox design and celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911, Tag Heuer brings to your wrist the new Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche, a chronograph designed to convey the fast-accelerating sensation of motor racing. Its watchmakers have developed a new movement especially for the collaboration with the legendary car manufacturer that holds a surprise in store.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche is based on Tag Heuer's Glassbox design, which, with a 42 mm x 14.9 mm case and a domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating, should allow the edges of the dial to be better read from any angle.

It is available in 18-carat rose gold with a beige dial or in steel with a silver dial. Both have rhodium-plated hour and minute hands, while the indices and chronograph hand match the colour of the case. The subdials and the date window at six o'clock have silver-plated details, and the subdials show the seconds hand.

0 to 100 km/h in just 9.1 seconds. Just like the original Porsche 911. To commemorate this achievement, the first 9.1 seconds of the flange are marked by a red line on the left subdial. This is because the new TH20-08 movement with 80 hours of power reserve drives the chronograph hand, which accelerates like the speedometer in a car.

This means that when the chronograph is started, it runs very fast and covers approximately one third of the dial in 9.1 seconds, or to be more precise, between 0 and 20 seconds of a conventional 60-second display. During this time, the chronograph hand slows down as it circles the dial, becoming slower and slower until it reaches the top of the dial and starts up again at high speed.

The idea of a watch that runs fast, as if accelerating in the first few gears of a Porsche and then slows down as we approach "top speed". This complication has never been done before.
