White Gold

White Gold Jewellery in 18-Carat Gold with Diamonds in Murcia

White gold is the metal that works best when the stone is the star. Its cool, neutral tone disappears visually and makes a diamond look whiter, larger and brighter. That is why it accounts for most of the solitaires and diamond pieces in the exclusive collection of Pedro Luis Olivares Joyero.

There is a technical point worth knowing before you buy: 18-carat white gold is not naturally white. It is gold alloyed with metals that lighten it and, on top of that base, it carries a rhodium plating that gives it its mirror finish. That plating wears away with use and should be renewed every two or three years on pieces worn daily. It is simple, inexpensive maintenance, but it does exist, and we carry it out in our own workshop in Murcia.

In return, white gold pairs with the steel of watches, with silverware and with practically any gemstone. If the person already wears a steel watch and cool-toned jewellery, this is the coherent choice. If all their jewellery is yellow gold, mixing only makes sense as a deliberate decision, not by accident.

Compared with platinum, white gold offers the same visual result for considerably less money, at the cost of that periodic rhodium plating.
