Rolex Official Retailer | Jewellery in Murcia

The Interstellar Murph in its most complete form: the H70605732 bundle pairs the 42 mm watch with the leather strap that made it famous and, in the same case, Hamilton's steel bracelet. Two watches on the wrist for the price of one, with the automatic H-10 calibre, an 80-hour power reserve, an anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring and "Eureka" lacquered in Morse code on the seconds hand. Official Hamilton Retailer in Murcia since 1925.

Some watches are bought for what they do and others for what they mean. The Hamilton Khaki Field Murph belongs to that rare minority that manages both: it is an honest, thoroughly capable Swiss field watch, and it is also the object on which the ending of one of this century's most debated films depends. Reference H70605732 also happens to settle the only serious question facing anyone considering one.
The watch itself is identical. Same 42 mm steel case, same calibre, same dial, same sapphire crystal, same 100 metres of water resistance. The difference lies in the box: the H70605731 leaves the factory on the black leather strap and nothing else, whereas the H70605732 is the bundle, adding Hamilton's stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp, reference H6050000361.
This is worth stating plainly, because several online retailers list the bundle reference with copy and photographs belonging to the strap-only version. If you arrived here searching for "Murph on bracelet", this is the correct reference, and you receive both configurations.
Here is the figure almost nobody publishes, and the one that settles the decision. Hamilton's official Spanish prices at the time of writing are as follows: the Murph on leather is 1,095 €, the bundle is 1,195 €, and the steel bracelet bought separately from Hamilton's own accessories shop is 145 €.
The arithmetic is immediate. The bundle adds the bracelet for 100 € when buying it afterwards would cost you 145 €. Anyone who buys the strap version and decides a few months later that they want steel will have paid 1,240 € for precisely the contents that cost 1,195 € here. The gap is not vast, but it runs counter to intuition: in this case the more complete version is the cheaper one over time, not the other way round.
There is a second, less accountancy-minded argument. A field watch on leather and the same watch on a steel bracelet are neither worn nor perceived the same way. The first is softer, quieter, more of a weekend proposition. The second gains weight, gains presence and shrugs off sweat and water without ageing. Owning both mounts means the same watch walks into a boardroom and onto a mountain path without asking permission.
Diameter is the number everyone looks at and almost always the least useful one. What really determines whether a watch sits within your wrist or overhangs it is the lug-to-lug distance, and on the 42 mm Murph Hamilton states 53 mm.
The rule of thumb we use across the counter is simple: lug-to-lug should not exceed the flat width of your wrist. On wrists under roughly 16.5 cm in circumference, 53 mm tends to sit tight or overhang outright. Between 17 and 19 cm it settles naturally. Above 19 cm the watch wears comfortably and will probably benefit from the bracelet, whose added weight balances the case.
If those numbers fall short, the answer is not to abandon the model: the Murph also exists in 38 mm. And here a counter-intuitive detail is worth knowing before you decide, because Hamilton's own specifications confirm it: the 38 mm version states 11.1 mm in thickness against the 11 mm of this 42 mm. In other words, sizing down gains you nothing whatsoever in height off the wrist. The genuine difference lies in diameter and lug reach, not in what the watch stands proud beneath a shirt cuff.
This Murph takes a 22 mm fitting, while the 38 mm uses 20 mm. That is no trivial matter if you intend to experiment with straps. Twenty-two millimetres is a common size and replacements are easy to find, but no Murph 38 strap will fit here, and vice versa. They are two separate ecosystems within the same model.
On the changeover itself, an honest warning: Hamilton supplies the bracelet with its own fitting tool, which tells you the swap is not a tool-free system. It can certainly be done at home with patience and good light, but a screwdriver that slips leaves a permanent mark on the polished steel of the lug. Bring it to us the first time. We do it on the spot at no charge, and we will show you the technique so you can repeat it yourself.
In the plot of Interstellar (Christopher Nolan, 2014), Cooper gives this watch to his daughter Murph before departing. Stranded later in another dimension, he moves the seconds hand to transmit quantum data to her in Morse code; the adult Murph decodes it, shouts "Eureka!" and solves the equation. The watch is not set dressing in that film: it is the mechanism the ending depends on. Hamilton developed it alongside Nolan himself and production designer Nathan Crowley.
The commercial piece carries the word EUREKA printed and lacquered in Morse code along the seconds hand. One documentary nuance deserves mention: on the official specification sheet for the 38 mm Murph that detail appears when Hamilton narrates the model's history, but not among the declared technical features. On this 42 mm reference, Hamilton states it expressly as a product characteristic. Buy the 42 and you buy the nod certified by the brand.
Do not look for it in photographs, because it does not show. It exists at the scale of lacquer on a seconds hand and requires a watchmaker's loupe to read. Ask us for one when you visit the boutique: it is precisely the sort of thing that justifies walking through a shop door rather than pressing a buy button.
Inside sits the automatic Hamilton H-10 calibre with an 80-hour power reserve. In practical terms: take it off on Friday evening and it is still running on time on Monday morning without being touched. Specialist watch databases credit it with 25 jewels and a 21,600 vph frequency on ETA architecture, though Hamilton does not publish those figures for this reference, so we present them as what they are: third-party data, not a statement from the brand.
What Hamilton does declare, and what will affect you most in daily wear, is the anti-magnetic Nivachron™ balance spring. Magnetism is the silent enemy of any mechanical watch today, and it does not live in laboratories: it lives in the magnetic clasp of a handbag, in a phone case, in the laptop speakers your wrist rests beside for eight hours a day. A conventional steel hairspring that becomes magnetised begins gaining minutes a day with nothing appearing broken. Nivachron sharply reduces that risk and, incidentally, behaves better under shock and temperature swings.
The markers and hands carry Super-LumiNova® in an aged beige tone rather than cold white. It is a deliberate aesthetic decision that imitates the look of radium on military watches of the 1960s and 1970s, and it lends the whole a warmth that white lume never achieves.
The honest trade-off is that vintage-toned lume performs slightly below white lume in initial emission, simply because the pigment giving it that beige colour takes up some of the available luminescent surface. This is not a professional diving instrument and does not pretend to be. For reading the time at three in the morning, it more than suffices. For reading it twenty-five metres down after an hour underwater, this is not the tool.
Precision matters here, because Hamilton's own Spanish website shows an inconsistency we have verified across numerous references: the main product block advertises "3 years' warranty" while the footer of the same page states "2 years' international warranty".
The correct reading is this. Hamilton provides a 2-year international manufacturer's warranty. Any product purchased on Spanish territory additionally carries, automatically since 2022, the 3-year statutory guarantee of conformity, which prevails over the manufacturer's term because it is longer. To that Pedro Luis Olivares Joyero, as an official service centre, adds one further year. The result is 4 years of genuine cover, not the 2 or 3 you will see advertised on most listings for this watch.
Pedro Luis Olivares Joyero is an Official Hamilton Retailer and has been selling fine watches in Murcia since 1925, with boutiques at Avenida Constitución 4 and Gran Vía Escultor Salzillo 15. That means a new piece with an activatable international warranty, bracelet sizing carried out in our own workshop rather than by eye, strap fitting that leaves no mark on the steel, and a service department you can return to in eight years' time without anyone asking where you bought the watch.
The Murph is not the watch from a film: it is the watch that solves the film. And this is the only reference that lets you decide each morning which of its two personalities to wear.
