An iconic addition to TAG Heuer's lineup, the Carrera collection was introduced in 1963 without a date feature initially. After three years, a subtle date function was incorporated at 12 o'clock, introducing the innovative Dato layout, featuring a digital date display on a rotating disc within the wrist chronograph. In 1968, a significant change occurred as the date window discreetly shifted to the 9 o'clock position.

Inspired by this design evolution, TAG Heuer is now unveiling a new chronograph characterized by a monochromatic teal green dial with a 9 o'clock date, joining the previously released "reverse panda" and blue tri-compax models in 2023 (for a detailed review, you can refer to our hands-on coverage).

Described as a harmonious fusion of blue and green, teal green pays tribute to the rich history of motorsports, specifically recalling the vintage green hues of racing cars from the exhilarating era of national color racing spanning the '20s to the '60s.

The fresh TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph "Dato" comes in a 39 mm stainless steel case, featuring a distinctive domed sapphire Glassbox crystal that seamlessly extends over the bezel, following the dial's edge and seamlessly blending into the case.

The dial is adorned with a circular brushed finish and enriched by a teal green azuré mono subdial positioned at 3 o'clock. Rhodium-plated indexes and hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova, emitting a green glow in darker surroundings.

An open caseback reveals TAG Heuer's in-house movement, Heuer 02, designated as TH20-07, operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour).

The bidirectional automatic winding mechanism, featuring a distinct shield-shaped rotor emblematic of TAG Heuer, generates a power reserve of up to 80 hours.
