The OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch is one of the world's most iconic watches, having participated in all six moon landings. This legendary chronograph is an impressive representation of OMEGA's pioneering and adventurous spirit.

Presented with a black micro-perforated leather strap with red and white stitching, this 42mm Moonwatch, made of stainless steel, features sapphire crystal on both the front and case back.

Inspired by the 4th generation Speedmaster style worn on the Moon, it also includes an asymmetrical case, a stepped white lacquered dial with applied OMEGA logo and indices, Moonwatch-style hands, and the famous dot over 90 on the black anodized aluminum bezel.

Stainless steel is undoubtedly the most conventional material for external craftsmanship in watchmaking, offering beauty, durability, and affordability. OMEGA uses 316L stainless steel, known for its corrosion resistance and intense shine after polishing, making it the ideal choice for watches used daily and in high-stress situations such as diving and adventure.

Aluminum, being a lightweight material, is used for decorative components. Through anodization, it provides a wide range of colors for creating attractive watch parts, including bezel rings, elements applied on the dial, and hands. OMEGA's special anodization process has produced aluminum bezel rings that are nearly twice as hard as normal versions, making them more resistant to external damage.

The watch is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 3861, driving the small seconds sub-dial, 30-minute recorder, and 12-hour recorder, along with the central chronograph function.

Manual-winding chronograph movement with Co-Axial Escapement. Master Chronometer certified, approved by METAS, resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. Free-sprung balance with silicon balance spring. Rhodium-plated finish, bridges with Côtes de Genève decoration.

The white dial is inspired by astronaut suits and the iconic 1969 ALASKA I prototype. It includes contrasting black details and a glossy lacquered finish, a first for a domed Moonwatch dial.

Convex scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on the inner surface. To appreciate the subtlest details of a watch, OMEGA uses a synthetic sapphire crystal with a highly scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatment.

Before machining and finishing processes, sapphire crystals are produced using the Verneuil process, also known as flame fusion. It involves melting raw material with an oxyhydrogen flame and crystallizing the melted droplets to form a cylinder.

With a hardness grade of 9 on the Mohs scale (graded from 1 to 10), resulting sapphire crystals are virtually scratch-proof and very hard, ensuring unobstructed vision at all times.

The red accents are inspired by the Commander stripes on astronaut suits.
